I wrote this version of the book Rumpelstiltskin and the Prince to show that every coin has two sides. In each version of the book Rumpelstiltskin ever written, he is portrayed as the greedy, evil imp who schemes a helpless woman to possess her firstborn child. However, when I first read Rumpelstiltskin in elementary school, I always considered Rumpelstiltskin the hero in the Queen's world. Rumpelstiltskin and The Prince reveal a side of the strange little man that allows us to celebrate this unique fairy-tale with a new perspective as Rumpelstiltskin and the Prince eventually unite on their own terms.
