Northern Italy is home to a precious culinary gem: the white truffle of Piedmont.
Worth more than gold, the white truffle is sought after by chefs and foodies alike, who come to the small town of Alba each year for the truffle hunt and related festivities. But this year, the truffle hunters are in a panic because their efforts are yielding only a meager harvest.
Then the body of a murdered hunter turns up. A young man from Tuscany is in the region with his aunt, who is a famous chef in Genoa, in order to buy truffles for her restaurant. He unravels the mystery of the missing truffles while traversing the hills of Piedmont, and experiencing the region’s delicious wine and food.
