This book is dramatically inspired and heavily informed by true historical occurrences, which took place in October 1962. In play were the USSR’s "Operations Anadyr and Kama". It all later became known, in the West as the Cuban Missile Crisis. It is a fictionalized version of events that occurred on a Russian submarine, highlighting one officer, who made decisions that prevented World War III.
