James Weller leads a quiet life with news reporter wife Marla in their quaint St. Louis suburb. One morning, as he prepares to leave for his much-anticipated week-long retreat, a phantom explosion causes a massive blackout through the city. But the power grid isn’t the only thing disabled. Electronic devices and vehicles inexplicably stop working. A series of coordinated bombs then detonate throughout the city, causing mass panic and hysteria in its wake.
