Helena is a widow, recently remarried. But the accidental death of her first husband never set right with her self-described "parapsychic" ability. When residents begin reporting a sea monster around Red Deer Lake, the authorities ignore them. Though they can't ignore people dying in a town that hasn't had a suspicious death in over 30 years, no one except Helena makes a connection between the sea monster and the deaths. And she suspects this all ties into her first husband's disappearance.
